New Year’s Stew to Manifest Good Luck, Prosperity, Health & Love

The tradition of black eyed peas (field peas) on New Year’s Day.

I had not heard of this tradition until I moved to Texas 5 years ago. We now make a New Year’s Day stew each year since I am off work and can make a slow cooker meal.

While making it, you need to put things in that are intended to manifest what you want in the New Year. So it needs to be made with love and positivity. Creating your own magic and intention for the future.

The more traditional recipe for black eyed peas and collard greens are generally high in fat, made with pork products, but I make my own healthy version of a stew each year.

Originally black eyed peas are said to symbolize pennies to bring wealth to the person eating them on New Year’s Day. They represent good luck and prosperity.

Traditionally collard greens are used to symbolize money, but I like to use kale and spinach.

I put a couple chicken breasts (strength) in some of the champagne (happiness) that we celebrated the New Year with and put it in a slow cooker on high. I cook it until the chicken starts to fall apart. Things can really represent whatever you want, the intention behind the ingredients while you put them in is the important part.

I add turmeric (anti-inflammatory, anti-depressant and LOTS of other healthy effects) and Himalayan sea salt (electrolytes, brain function, supports sleep), black pepper, Braggs spice blend and various Italian spices, cilantro (fresh and dried). You can use whatever spices you like, but I like to use only spices that have a lot of health properties.

You can use fresh black eyed peas or canned. I preferred canned in this case. I add carrots, corn (because Britney likes it) symbolizing gold and wealth.

I can of stewed tomatoes and red peppers (whatever kind you like or use fresh and let stew in the pot). Symbolizing love.

Manifests prosperity, health and love.
